Not too long ago, Brooke Bock of Artistic Endeavors, shared a post announcing a “hot off the press” most fabulous book, Seaside Crafting, by Cynthia Shaffer. Of course, I was curious, delighted and eager to check it out. I will definitely be adding this one to my personal library collection; after all, I’m a minute’s walk to the beach.
But not yet having the book in my possession bears no influence with not being inspired. Nope.

This is my interpretation of one of the featured crafts in the book, and my favorite. It doesn’t take much to achieve the desired look of a weathered little sailboat. They’re so stinking easy to make!
For those of you who are not blessed with the nearness of driftwood laden salty shores, I whipped up a different style of sailing vessel just for you.

Somewhat Huck Finn-esque, wouldn’t you say?
Happy sailing 🙂
This brings back childhood memories 🙂
I admire your creativity and the natural touch of your creations. The world needs more of this to keep the balance. I decided it was a good reason to nominate you to One Lovely Blog Award. For the last conversations/comments I nominate you to the Sisterhood of the World Award since you gave me the strenght and support I needed without even knowing me. Read more about it in my blog. Have a great week!
Great post! I love Cynthia's book Coastal Crafts. It is full of fun projects. I love these little sailboats of yours…. I am still trying to get my friends to choose this as our next craft…gourds are taking longer than we anticipated… And I am tickled pink that Charlotte nominated you for the One Lovely Blog Award. Yours is a blog that is beautiful, gentle, and inspiring. I understand why many bloggers use it as a business, but I am so drawn to those who use their blog as a way to share things that are beautiful just for the sake of sharing and beauty…. The whole Karma thing comes back to you ten fold, I believe. Yours is a blog I will always follow…full of grace and beauty. I just smile when I know there is a new post from you or a sweet comment. You leave a wake of kindness where you have been. You inspire me!!!
